Kirimoko Project


Kirimoko Park, Wanaka

214m2 house & associated hard landscaping

On this project we worked with a client who knew what she wanted when it came to superior performance housing. Together, we designed a home that suited her individual needs and a site-specific building platform. The house incorporates a MAXRaft slab - fully insulated and thermally broken slab system, 165mm SIP panel exterior walls, cedar windows and doors with Low E Xcel glass, solar rib roofing (solar laminates), a combination of 215mm SIPS panel roof and truss, radiators throughout and floor to ceiling interior doors.

 

The hard landscaping included a schist retaining wall built by Clint and the power of the earthwork’s contractor, timber retaining walls, schist memorial garden, kwila decking, concrete mag swirl footpaths and an asphalt driveway.

West Meadows Views

West Meadows, Wanaka

300m2 home and garage

A more traditional home with antique white blocks and cedar in less exposed areas to keep the maintenance low. A combination of MAXRaft slab, SIP panels, balanced ventilation system, radiators and some gorgeous finishes. This is a stunning family home with a decent garage or “man shed” as our client called it. Spectacular 360-views and a delightful couple to work with.

West Coast Wonder

Hannah’s Clearing, Haast

108m2 Home with enclosed patio

A remote location 100m from the ocean, the highest rain on record since 1940, pesky sandflies to boot and getting the goods over the Haast Pass with no damage – this build certainly had its challenges, but what a spot and what a result.

 

The project involved clearing bush and forming the building platform and driveway before we could even look at building. A MAXRaft slab with 165mm SIP panel walls, 215mm SIP panel roof, double glazed, thermally broken aluminium joinery with Low E-glass, a balanced ventilation system and a very cool outdoor area created with the protection of bug screens – this is another peak performance home sitting amongst the beautiful West Coast native bush.

Beacon Point Road, Wanaka

438m2 Home

This was a project that started out being built by the client’s own construction company. The CBG Quality Construction crew were engaged part way through to assist, and then completed the finishing work and hard landscaping. This was a high-end residential project which required skill, attention to detail and a quality finish to complement the beautiful building materials throughout.

Design and Build

Kapuka Lane - Kirimoko, Wanaka

157m2 home and garage

This was a CBG design and build project - a tricky build on a smaller site with an adjoining party wall to the neighbouring property. Another SIP panel, MAXRaft slab combination with a Smartvent balanced ventilation system and double glazed thermally broken joinery with high-performing Low E-glass. This house had a blower door test to check its performance reaching .66ach @ 50pa which is very close to passive standards of .6ach @ 50pa.

Exceeding Standards

Kirimoko, Wanaka

237m2 home and garage

A two-story home to capture the spectacular views of Lake Wanaka. High performing with a combination of MAXRaft slab, 165mm SIP panel walls, 265mm SIP panel roof and triple glazed thermally broken joinery. All in all, this home is rated for zero heating requirements while the blower door test came back at .45ach @ 50pa, well below passive standards.

 

CBG carried out all of the hard landscaping on this home, delivering a complete package with an outstanding result.

Maungawera Lodge

Lake Hawea – Albert Town Road, Wanaka

Reinstatement and alterations of 580sqm lodge

CBG Quality Construction were awarded the contract to reinstate this building after fire damage, along with some smart alterations. The project involved completely gutting the interior linings, removing walls, reinstating trusses throughout, a re-roof, complete new build of the south wing, replacing cedar facings and barges, bringing the building up to the current code, complete re-wire and much more. This was a challenging project, but the result was fantastic, and the clients were delighted.

Hawea Flat, Wanaka

250m2 home and garage

This is our pride and joy in Hawea Flat, Wanaka. The features of our home include a combination of schist, board and batten exterior cladding, cedar joinery and thirteen different species of native timbers incorporated into the interior of the home. Our passion for superior performance housing can be found in the solar hot water heating and wood burner with wetback, while the rimu kitchen and exposed rafters show our love for natural elements.
